What treatment can help with

What this could mean for you.

A less visible appliance

Transparent trays offer a discreet treatment option, though attachments and elastics may still be visible.

Removable for daily routines

Trays are removed as instructed for meals and cleaning, with a prescribed daily wear schedule.

Planned tooth movement

A sequence of trays guides the movements set out in your individual orthodontic plan.

Your treatment plan is based on your examination and goals.

Start with your concern

What brings you to an orthodontist?

You do not need to know the name of a treatment before asking about your teeth.

01

Crowded teeth

Aligners may help some crowded teeth, depending on the space needed and movements involved. Suitability requires an in-person assessment.

02

Gaps you want assessed

Dr. Shreya considers the cause of spacing and the way your teeth meet before discussing whether aligners could be appropriate.

03

Teeth that have shifted

If teeth have moved after earlier orthodontic treatment, bring your previous records and retainers if available to help the discussion.

04

An uneven bite

Some bite concerns can be addressed with aligners; others may need braces or a different approach. The appliance follows the diagnosis.

From your first visit onwards

How treatment is planned at Grin & Brace.

  1. 01

    Assess the whole picture

Discuss your concerns and history, examine your bite and oral health, and identify any treatment needed before tooth movement begins.

  2. 02

    Understand your plan

Records are taken as appropriate. Review the intended changes, alternatives, limitations, likely duration and the commitment expected from you.

  3. 03

    Wear, review and adapt

Follow the tray schedule and attend reviews. If teeth do not follow the intended movements, additional trays or changes may be discussed.

  4. 04

    Move into retention

Finishing the aligner sequence does not end maintenance. Retainers and an individual follow-up plan help maintain the tooth positions achieved.

Understanding the treatment

What clear aligner treatment involves

Clear aligners are a sequence of removable trays designed to guide teeth through planned movements. You progress through them on a prescribed schedule, with clinical reviews to assess how your teeth are responding. Treatment is more than simply receiving a box of trays.

Choosing aligners starts with an examination of your teeth, gums and bite. At Grin & Brace in Shela, your consultation is an opportunity to discuss the changes you want, ask about alternatives and understand the practical commitment before making a decision.

Discuss your options

Questions to settle before choosing trays

Will they suit my teeth?

Different movements have different demands. Ask what aligners can reasonably achieve in your case and which limitations need to be considered.

Will they suit my routine?

Removability brings responsibility. You need to follow the prescribed wear schedule, keep trays safe and plan cleaning around meals.

What else might be involved?

Small tooth-coloured attachments or elastics may be recommended. Some plans need space creation or further treatment stages; ask what is proposed for you.

Your examination helps us recommend the options that suit you.

Your questions

A little more clarity
before your visit.

These answers are a starting point. Your consultation is where we discuss your individual situation.

Are clear aligners invisible?

Clear trays are less noticeable than many fixed appliances, but they can still be seen. Tooth-coloured attachments and elastics, if needed, may also be visible.

How often will I need to visit?

Review visits are usually every 8–10 weeks to check progress and fit. Your schedule is confirmed when treatment begins.

How much of the day do I wear them?

Plan on wearing your aligners for about 20–22 hours a day, following the schedule Dr. Shreya prescribes for your aligner system. Remove them as instructed for meals, drinks and cleaning. Consistent wear helps the planned tooth movements stay on track.

Can I eat and drink normally?

You will receive instructions about removing trays for food and drinks and cleaning before putting them back. Ask how to manage meals and snacks within your wear schedule.

Are aligners quicker than braces?

The time needed depends on the tooth movements and bite correction in your plan. Dr. Shreya will compare suitable options and explain the expected timeline for each, so you can choose with a clear picture of the treatment involved.

Will I need attachments?

Some plans use small tooth-coloured shapes bonded to teeth to help guide movement. Whether you need them, and where, depends on your treatment plan.

Will I still need appointments?

Yes. Clinical reviews assess tooth movement, fit and oral health. The visit schedule should be explained before treatment starts and may change as required.

What happens after the last aligner?

Dr. Shreya checks the result and discusses any further steps. Retainers are usually needed, with a wear and review plan tailored to you.

Are there any risks or limitations?

Aligners share the risks of orthodontic tooth movement, including gum problems, changes to roots and teeth moving again after treatment. Inadequate cleaning can contribute to decay. Trays may cause temporary discomfort or speech changes. Dr. Shreya should explain your individual risks and how treatment will be monitored.
